Swarm win two in a row as Mammoth drop third straight

Minnesota Swarm forward Callum Crawford scored four goals and added five assists to help lead the Minnesota Swarm (3-4) to a 15-5 victory over the Colorado Mammoth (2-5) on Saturday night at Xcel Energy Center in front of 9,223. It was the Swarm's first ever victory over the Mammoth.
"We continued right where we left off last week," Swarm Head Coach Mike Lines said. "We gained some confidence with some big goals from guys who really stepped it up. It's definitely a good sign."
Crawford scored two goals late in the second quarter that capped off a five goal period for the Swarm and gave Minnesota the 6-4 lead at halftime. Colorado had the 3-1 lead after the first quarter.
Ryan Benesch and Aaron Wilson also had good nights for Minnesota with Benesch scoring three goals and adding six assists while Wilson had two goals and five assists. Sean Pollock had two goals and two assists as well for Minnesota.
The Swarm continued to find the back of the net in the second half, scoring nine unanswered goals after Jamie Shewchuk scored for the Mammoth 1:04 into the third quarter.
Five different Colorado players scored goals, but it was Nenad Gajic who led the Mammoth on the stat sheet with three assists. The Mammoth did not score a goal the final 28-minutes, 56-seconds.
Minnesota outshot Colorado 42-30 on the night.
These two teams will face each other for the final time this season next Saturday in Denver at 9 p.m. EST.
